The Vine Church, Hart
"Our church had recently launched a second congregation, so we wanted a new and modern design for our website that would reflect our new identity as one church in two locations.
Church Pages took time at the beginning to find out all about our church and helped us to find the right text and images to express our vision and character. We're delighted with the and result of their hard work.
The new site design has a fresh and modern look, but also fits perfectly with the branding that we already use."
Edward Ramsden, The Vine Church
The Vine Church Odiham, Fleet, and Church Crookham is a lively Christian church for all ages in the Hart district. In Spring 2017 the church was considering a fresh look for its website, and wanted to have a responsive website that reflected the church's move to multi-site meetings.
The Vine Church found out about Church Pages through an introductory email from us and having read about our vision to help churches outreach to their community they got in touch. After a number of discussions The Vine Church was ready to collect together all that we needed to design and build the website and on receipt of logo, copy, and images we set to work.
How the website was designed and built
As the website had a specific remit it was designed very much along the lines that The Vine Church wanted. There were some initial amends so that the site could show more of what the church was like, and the Church Pages team took the logo and designed the site around that. We were very pleased with the end result, particularly as the colours that we chose for the site were empathetic to those of the Newfrontiers family, of which The Vine Church is a part.
The finished website has the following features:
- A highly engaging home page that clearly reflects the friendliness of the church as well as its locality.
- A home page readily identifies where the church meets.
- The way in which the church serves its community.
- Sermons uploaded that can be searched by date, speaker, topic and bible book.
- Google maps so that the churches can be found easily.
- Links to social media..
On completion of the site we provided training to The Vine Church so that they felt confident to make changes to the site themselves, including uploading sermons, knowing that we are only an email or phone call away.
What else did Church Pages do?
So The Vine Church, Hart could be found online we ensured that optimisation tags for each page of the website were created and filled in the structure data settings for Google. We also added in web stats so that the number of visitors to their site could be seen along with what actions were taken once the site was clicked on.
How did the website switch from the old one to the new Church Pages website?
As with most of our churches The Vine Church wanted to keep their email where it was, and so we asked them to change their domain name's A record to Church Pages' IP address and we added in the relevant aliases.
The Church Pages' Team were very happy to have worked with The Vine Church to create a vibrant new website that enables the community to find out where the church meets and the fun that can be had at the church.
