Institute of Bible and Ministry

"Thank you for all your hard work on this new website – it looks great and we hope that it will encourage many people to follow and support the ministry."

Ruth Lancaster - The Institute of Bible and Ministry

The Institute of Bible and Ministry (IBM) is a training facility serving the ministers of the Africa Inland Church, Tanzania (AICT). It provides theological, leadership and vocational training to pastors, evangelists and their wives through a series of teaching seminars held throughout the AICT’s Coastal Diocese and at Sanga Sanga Retreat Centre itself.

Having had their website with our parent company for many years we introduced IBM to our Church Pages Initiative and they were keen to have a refreshed look and to move their website to the Church Pages' platform.

The team at Church Pages worked closely with IBM so that the website could reflect the Institute's mission and give information on the centre, courses, and resources. It was also imperative that the site worked on all mobile devices, and could be edited simply by the IBM team.

How the website was designed and built

Although IBM already had a site they wanted something much fresher and easier to navigate. Fortunately they were able to provide excellent images that reflected the beautiful surroundings of the Sanga Sanga Retreat Centre and the joy of all those who attend the training sessions.

The Institute wanted a website that not only clearly identified what was its focus, but where it was located. Caleb seemed like the ideal template for their needs and so our team worked closely with Ruth to help create a website that she and the team were happy with.

The finished website has the following features:

  • A home page that gives an insight into the heart of IBM.
  • A Google map that identifies precisely how to find the Sanga Sanga Retreat Centre.
  • A resource area where training materials can be simply added.
  • A simple to edit content managed website that the Institute's team can keep updated themselves.

What else did Church Pages do?

To help IBM's web presence we added in optimisation tags to the site and completed structure data settings for Google. Web stats were also added so that the Institute could see the number of visitors to their site, and what actions were taken during the session.

How did the website switch from the old one to the new Church Pages website?

As we already had management of IBM's domain it was very simple to switch the site to the Church Pages' platform.

Conclusion

The team at Church Pages have long standing connections with IBM and wanted to serve them as best we could. The finished website reflects the heart of IBM which is enabling, mobilising & inspiring through lifelong learning
