St John's Church, Copthorne Launch New Website Integrating With ChurchSuite

29 January 2020 16:03

Christmas is a particularly busy time in the church calendar, with attendance at Anglican Christmas services up 300%! 71% of those unchurched people will use their mobile device to find information about a church, and so it is essential that churches have responsive websites that are user friendly and welcoming.

St John the Evangelist Church, Copthorne were very aware of the need to update their website so that their community could have easy access to information about their services for Advent and Christmas. They also had a couple of other websites that they were responsible for, that they wanted amalgamating into their website. These websites had separate urls (web addresses) from those of the church, but St John's wanted everything under one umbrella. They contacted us with only a few weeks until December with a desire to see a new website in place for the Christmas season.

What did Church Pages do?

Despite a tight time constraint the website design and build proceeded quickly. As St John's had already updated their logo, and were clear as to what fonts and styles they wanted, creating the main design was relatively easy. The Hebron template was chosen, and the Vicar worked diligently to provide images that not only reflected warm and welcoming nature of the church, but the met the criteria outlined in our blog on responsive images.

All copy for each page was provided and once this was put in training was given so the Vicar could go in and edit copy and text appropriately. We were able to integrate with ChurchSuite seamlessly so that St John's could let their community know what was going on, and have people sign up directly for events on ChurchSuite.

We set up a top nav folder for each of the other websites and logged into the domain management panels for each site and put on an appropriate redirect to each of the folders. This meant that all the information could be easily accessed from St John's site, and provided further opportunities for those outside of the church to engage with the website.

And the end result? A wonderful responsive website that was informative and truly welcoming. The church was really pleased with the end result and have been happily updating their site themselves having received training.

If you would like to have help with updating your website for Easter then please do contact us.
