Holy Trinity Church, Guernsey

"From the initial design of our first website by Church Pages, to using the site for a few years, everything was effortless. And so we didn't hesitate in asking Church Pages to custom redesign our site. The whole process has been kept so simple and straightforward it’s unbelievable"

"No one in our team had any prior experience with websites, but Church Pages have held our hands all the way through the process, and the Church Pages software is incredibly user friendly. Thank you Church Pages".

David Girard - Youth Pastor, Holy Trinity Guernsey Church

Holy Trinity Guernsey Church is a vibrant church in the town of St Peter Port, Guernsey. At the end of 2016 the church was looking for a new website presence and Church Pages were able to create a new website for them using a combination of the  Boaz and Damascus templates. During lockdown David Girard approached us again to have a bespoke website created keeping much of the same content, but with a fresh look.

How the website was designed and built

David wanted to refresh the look of the website to make more use of images to promote engagement. We therefore worked closely with him to design a site that met his brief. Being blessed with outstanding responsive images helped the redesign enormously, but we did introduce the concept of duotone to help the user-experience, and to give the site a more branded look. The finished website benefits from the following:

  • A very engaging home page that is welcoming and clear as to what the church's mission is.
  • Interaction with a welcome video from the Vicar.
  • Clear navigation via strong imagery and calls to action.
  • The ability to upload sermons that can be searched by filters
  • An easy to update blog.
  • A site that integrates smoothly with Church Suite.

We worked closely with David Girard to create the site and make the site outward focussed whilst meeting the needs of Trinity's congregation.

What else did Church Pages do?

We also added in optimisation tags for the website to help Google know what the website and its contents were about. We knew that this would also help the website to be found by Google and hopefully assist members of the public looking for a church in Guernsey to find Holy Trinity via Google or Bing.

We also installed a Secure Certificate onto the site.

How did the website switch from the old one to the new Church Pages website?

As Church Pages provides the domain name server for the domain holytrinity.org.gg it was easy to switch to the new site.

Conclusion

It is always a pleasure working with David so we were pleased to be able to create a new bespoke site that reflected all that is Trinity offers its community and congregation.
