The Coach House, Kilmuir Launches New Website

22 September 2021 18:46

The Coach House, Kilmuir has been a place to reconnect spiritually for a number of years. It offers a number of retreats and although small, has been a haven to many. However, one of the things that they were frustrated with was their existing website. It had been designed and maintained well over the years, but The Coach House wanted to have a site that they could edit themselves, and so they came to Church Pages to ask for help.

How did Church Pages help?

The Trust had clear ideas of how they wanted the site to look, and sent through detailed information on what information they wanted visitors to have and on what they wanted the user's journey to be. Looking at their vision it was clear that the Isaiah template would meet their needs.

With the brief to make the site give the overall feeling of peace and rest, we set about choosing images from the many that we were given that reflected the essence and serenity of the retreat house. We were blessed to have a large number of wonderfully taken images that would work responsively, and we match these to the content. The copy was tweaked and formatted to make the copy easy to read, and we added in calls to action where necessary.

Providing training

Part of the aim of Church Pages is to provide websites for churches and Christian charities that are well designed and easy to edit. However, even with the simple content management system that Church Pages has there is normally a need for training so that people using our system can feel confident about making changes themselves. So training was given to The Coach House team, and they were told that we are always on hand to help them.

Great feedback!

We were so pleased to receive positive feedback from not only Claire the the board of Trustees for The Coach House. It was also exciting to see application forms flooding in for the various retreats from the moment that the site went live, and to know that the site was doing its job effectively.

Claire said "I am so thankful to the team at Church Pages, they have created us the most beautiful, dynamic website and taught us, online, step by step how to use it. I am certainly not tech savvy, and, to be honest, very anxious about doing things on the computer, but Church Pages made it a relaxed and enjoyable/ fun experience all the way through. There was no pressure to hurry and get things finished, I feel very held and supported."

"Thank you SO much."
