Hope Health Action Launch Fundraising Shop on Church Pages

14 December 2021 11:37

When Hope Health Action (HHA) approached us about adding a shop for donations and to sell Christmas cards, we were happy to help. Church Pages was originally developed from eCommerce inventory software. Fortunately we kept the ability to sell through a Church Pages' website, and so with a click of a button the eCommerce and inventory management functionality was added to HHA's site.

Hope Health Action work with the world’s most vulnerable across Haiti and East Africa. They wanted to offer people the opportunity to purchase Gifts of Hope that would enable their beneficiaries to receive the very best care available and to provide a better working environment for staff, more privacy for patients at HCBH, and life-saving treatment for refugees.

Creating an online shop with stock control does take a bit of time to set up, but the team at Church Pages worked with HHA to complete all that was needed and were pleased to have everything in place within a couple of days. Excitingly the shop could be set up on their US site so that they could raise funds both here in the UK and in the States.

The first area that was created was HHA's Christmas Appeal category.

It was essential that some of the items on offer were stock controlled because certain gifts e.g. a phone system were only needed to be bought once. Our Creative Director worked with HHA to make their banners responsive and to ensure that the gifts were well displayed. We also added in attributes so visitors could choose what part of the world they wished to donate to and how much they wanted to spend.

The Christmas Card area was simple to set up and we added in the option of having price breaks and discount vouchers if required. HHA wanted to offer PayPal and Stripe and as our software integrates with these payment providers it was quick and easy for HHA to start selling and receiving donations through the website.

Conclusion

Setting up eCommerce with inventory is easy on a Church Pages website and can help to raise funds for your charity or church. HHA were really pleased with the speed in which the shop was ready for both the UK and US sites, and Sarah-Lynne from Hope Health Action said:

"Huge thanks again for your help! The system is all working correctly and we have had some purchases already, wahoo! The US team are also really happy with the site too, so thank you for all your hard work."
